I am a musicologist with research interests in Renaissance and Baroque instrumental music and American popular music. I was trained as a classical guitarist and lutenist, though I no longer play either instrument.
I am, however, an active jazz guitarist. I play Swing and Bebop. In this site and the ones linked to it I share some of what I do as an introduction and as entertainment, and hopefully to convey some useful information to those interested in music, especially jazz guitar.
I earned my Ph.D. in historical musicology but actually wear different professional hats. I teach music history and am the Technical Supervisor of the Arts Online Division of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. I teach guitar privately on a limited basis, as well as design websites.
